About Us

Starting out of his garage in 1976, founders Gene and Pat Gunderson began their dream of running their own tile contracting business. With an emphasis on high quality installations and uncompromising customer service, their client base and workload grew quickly and by 1983 they had brought on all four of their sons.

As the eighties came to a close, Gunderson Tile’s reputation for superior craftsmanship had circulated throughout the metro area enabling us to build decade long relationships with many of the Twin Cities finest custom home builders, designers and architects. The nineties brought rapid growth to our private party and builder services along with expansion into smaller commercial projects.

With the retirement of Gene and Pat in 2000, their sons Dan, Mark and Chris took over operations. Moving forward, Gunderson Tile has maintained its focus on residential serivices while expanding into larger commercial, industrial and out-of-state projects. Today, 43 years strong, with commercial and residential divisions, we provide our customers with installations tailored to each individual project.

Gunderson Tile specializes in custom tile and stone installations working directly with builders, architects, designers and homeowners. Every project receives one on one collaboration with the customer from the beginning through completion of the project. Gunderson Tile does not use subcontractors to install your tile. All of our installers have been trained to meet our highest installation expectations.
